how charming
I used about half the gift certificate and got the following:
I know, you all LOVE my photographic skills, but they are all so pretty in real life. And, I still have more money left on this gift certificate. Seriously, this place is awesome. I can't wait to go back and use the rest. :)

My life would suck without you*
I worked late a bunch this week prepping for an all company meeting we had on Saturday (that I had to put the presentation together for), and I just didn't feel like going on my computer when I got home at night, so no posts got written. However, on a happy note, my meeting went well, and my presentation went great (all 100+ slides). Woot woot.
So after the meeting JH came down to Delaware for the night, and it was so great to see her. I wish we got to see each other more. We went to dinner and the bar last night, then hung out today watching Say Yes to the Dress (and mocking the girls buying their dresses) and Thor, and just catching up again.
After she headed back home, I went and changed and went for a 2 mile run and did half an hour of Pilates. I'm ridiculously sore and tired right now. It's a great feeling. I figured since I'm supposed to be running a half in June in Seattle (seriously, why do I keep doing this?), I should maybe, actually go running?
Anyways, other than the meeting on Saturday morning, my weekend was so nice and relaxing and fun. I need more like this!
Hope everyone else had a great weekend!

I'm no longer yours and you're no longer mine. *
- I went shopping with my mom the other weekend and bought some shoes. My mom critiqued all my choices and told me that I had fat feet in them. (Ok, she didn't REALLY say they WERE fat, just said they LOOKED fat in certain shoes). Irritatingly, she was correct. So, I apparently have fat feet now as well. Boo.
- I had a fight with a friend on Friday and I was very irritated. And, I left work at the worst time and didn't feel like sitting in traffic (especially while irritated), so I went to the outlets. Retail therapy. Spent WAY too much money, but I bought a bunch of shirts (none of which has any argyle...I wear too much argyle).
- I worked at the flower store again this past weekend (ugh Valentine's Day). I had a new all time low. Married guy came in. Bought flowers for his wife, nicer flowers for his girlfriend, then proceeded to ask me out to dinner. Sigh. My faith in healthy relationships is dwindling more and more.
- I signed up for the half marathon in Seattle in June. (One of my best friends from high school, we like to call her Seattle's Best, lives there and I can't wait to visit). I'm a little less excited to be running. Why do I keep signing up for these things???
- I'm also planning a trip with Figgs to go to Prague, Budapest, and possibly Vienna this May. I'm SO EXCITED! This is hopefully going to be a good year for traveling!

Jewelry...
Earrings. I actually kind of really like these. Simple. Nothing exciting. But kind of pretty.
Upside down necklace (I have NO IDEA why my phone started flipping the images as I was taking the picture). It matches the above earrings. I actually have worn this a few times and have gotten A LOT of compliments on it. Apparently it looks better in person than in the picture :-)
Then, there's this necklace. It's a wooden pendant, so I used all wood beads and such. I am torn if I like this or not.
Then, there's these earrings, that I actually kind of really like. They're different. But the necklace that goes with it. Barf. I will definitely not be wearing it. It will get re-made, no doubt.

Just another Manic Monday*
I had a bit of a blah day at work day. So, I went to Wegmans on the way home. Sadly, my surefire way of cheering myself up didn't work!
I walked around the whole store and only bought some oatmeal and a pepino melon. That's just sad! I just had no desire to buy any nice produce or fresh meat/fish. Sad face. You know it must be bad if even a trip to wegmans didn't cheer me up.
However, I'm currently listening to oscar snore up a storm, and it's pretty freaking adorable. It's kind of working. :)
I also had a lovely weekend. I saw JH and SH, and we saw Midnight Mosaic play in Hoboken. It was so nice seeing JH AND SH. It's been way too long since I've seen them, and it was awesome that SH found the time to come all the way from Brooklyn to see us. Always nice to feel the love from your friends. :)
Then, the super bowl party at J's house was fun and lots of yummy food. Good times had by all (except the whole Giants winning part...).
Anyways, if only today could have been as fun as the weekend. Hope everyone else had a better Monday!

Ugh
Susan G Komen Foundation can kiss my ass (or is it more appropriate to say, can kiss my uterus in this situation?). I would like to thank Karen Handel for inspiring me to become a yearly donater to Planned Parenthood in her honor. I am SO SICK of my health being a political issue. And I'm even SICKER of poor women bearing the majority of the brunt of this politicalization (And this has NOTHING to do with abortions in any way, shape, or form, so please don't even try to use that argument).
However, from now on, every month, Karen Handel will receive a postcard from Planned Parenthood letting her know someone donated to Planned Parenthood in her honor and I hope she gets a million of these every month. If anyone else wants to donate on her behalf:

Argh this whole situation has had me in SUCH A BAD MOOD all day. I can't even begin to express my full rage at this. Just, at a loss.
So, I can't believe I am quoting this, but, seriously, he says it best:
"Politics have no place in health care. Breast cancer screening saves lives and hundreds of thousands of women rely on Planned Parenthood for access to care," Bloomberg said in a statement. "We should be helping women access that care, not placing barriers in their way."
